The Members Council on Library Services (MCLS) provides input on the suite of services that FLVC/FALSC offers to the students and staff of Florida's public college and university libraries. It is composed of one presidentially appointed representative from each institution.

Officers and Governance

The officers of the MCLS include the Chair, the Vice-Chair (Chair Elect), the Past Chair, and the FALSC Executive Director, who serves as an Ex Officio member. All business of the group are governed by the MCLS Operating Procedures. These guidelines are periodically updated by the council.


The MCLS meets quarterly to discuss library services and conduct council business. Meetings take place over one or two days, and are held at various public colleges and universities. In the past year, hosting institutions have included the University of Florida, University of Central Florida, and the State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota.

Meetings are attended, in-person or virtually, by appointed representatives from the libraries, administrators, staff members of the Florida Academic Library Services Cooperative, and guests.
