In 2018, FALSC began using SpringShare’s Libguide platform in order to organize many of our collaborative work with library staff. Today, all FALSC standing committees have replaced their wiki web sites with corresponding libguides to post meeting agendas and minutes, important resources and working documents. Since almost all FALSC libraries currently use Libguides for curriculum support, committee members are very comfortable using the platform.
FALSC has expanded our use of Libguides to include project support as well. Our ILS Implementation Project is a great example of this. All communication components of the project including working group meeting minutes and documents, video recordings of key meetings and presentations, information on the timeline and what’s next, as well any documentation are all listed on the libguide. Other smaller projects sponsored by FALSC are also listed. The organization will continue to use this platform to support other services in the future. It is our plan to use Libguides to provide much of the user documentation for Alma and Primo VE. Other library-related areas such as Digital Services and E-Resource Licensing have begun creating Libguides for their areas. FALSC has also experimented with using LibCal (an event calendaring tool) to manage live online training sessions. Clink on the links to the left to access our currently active libguides.
